Proposed 66 kV Overhead Line
The Upper Hunter Energy Park (UHEP) is proposing an approximately 12 km long 66 kV overhead line to connect the project to the Ausgrid electricity network at Scone. A Review of Environmental Factors (REF) has been prepared to assess the potential environmental, social and technical impacts associated with the proposed overhead line.
The proposed alignment has been informed by detailed environmental, archaeological and technical investigations, guiding the design to avoid environmentally and archaeologically sensitive areas where practicable. The design has also been informed by feedback from landholders and the local community, to improve safety, constructability and integration with existing land uses.
The REF has been prepared in accordance with relevant legislation and Ausgrid requirements and considers matters such as biodiversity, Aboriginal and historic heritage, landscape and visual impacts, land use, traffic, noise and community considerations.
→ Public Exhibition Period
The REF is now on public exhibition from 9 February to 1 March 2026.
During this time, community members, landholders and other interested stakeholders are invited to review the REF and provide feedback.
The REF is available online via the UHEP project website, on the Get Involved page: https://www.uhep.com.au/get-involved/
