Our Community

At the heart of the Upper Hunter Energy Park is a deep commitment to the communities that surround and support this project. We understand that the success of the Energy Park is intrinsically linked to the well-being and prosperity of the local population. By engaging with residents, stakeholders, and local organisations, we aim to ensure that the development of the Energy Park delivers meaningful and lasting benefits to the region. Our approach is rooted in the belief that sustainable energy development can coexist with, and indeed enhance, the social and economic fabric of the communities we serve.

Local Jobs

Creating new employment opportunities in the community.

Cultural Support

Protecting and promoting local Aboriginal heritage.

Economic Boost

Supporting local businesses and economic growth.

Community Funding

Annual funding for education, health, and local projects.

Strong Partnerships

Collaborating with local organisations like the Moobi and Wanaruah Foundations.

The Upper Hunter Energy Park brings significant opportunities for economic growth and development to the area. By generating clean, renewable energy, we not only contribute to a healthier environment but also create jobs and stimulate local businesses. From construction through to long-term operations, the project will provide employment opportunities across a range of sectors, including engineering, construction and maintenance. These jobs will be sourced locally wherever possible, ensuring that the economic benefits of the project are felt directly within the community. Additionally, the project’s presence will boost local industries, such as hospitality and retail, by increasing demand for goods and services.

One of our key commitments is to the social and cultural well-being of the community. The creation of the Moobi Foundation and the Wanaruah Foundation reflects our dedication to giving back to the local area and respecting its rich cultural heritage. The Moobi Foundation, established in collaboration with the Upper Hunter Shire Council and the Scone Chamber of Commerce, focuses on supporting community-driven initiatives in education, health, environmental conservation, and local business development. Similarly, the Wanaruah Foundation is dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Aboriginal communities in the region, ensuring that their voices are heard and their traditions respected as the Energy Park develops.

Building stronger communities through clean energy, cultural heritage, and lasting local impact—where every voice shapes our shared future.

The Upper Hunter Energy Park is not just about generating electricity; it’s about fostering a stronger, more resilient community. Through our ongoing consultations and engagement with local residents, we are actively seeking to understand and address the needs and concerns of those most affected by the project. By maintaining open lines of communication and working closely with community leaders, we aim to create a sense of ownership and pride in the Energy Park. This project is designed to be a source of community empowerment, providing the tools and resources needed for local populations to thrive in a changing world.

Ultimately, the Upper Hunter Energy Park is more than a renewable energy project—it’s a community partnership. We are committed to ensuring that the benefits of this project are shared widely, contributing to a brighter, more sustainable future for everyone in the region. Whether through economic development, social initiatives, or cultural preservation, the Energy Park stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a project is developed with the community’s best interests at its core. We look forward to continuing this journey together, building a legacy of clean energy and community strength that will endure for generations to come.
